The reboot Blade film was initially revealed in July 2019 during the San Diego Comic-Con. Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios, announced the project and stated that it will be Mahershala Ali in the starring role. The original Blade trilogy, starring Wesley Snipes, was hugely successful (albeit not always well received by reviewers). The films helped put Marvel’s vampire hero into the spotlight and increase his appeal at a time when the MCU didn’t even appear to be a possibility. It also generated a brief-lived television series.

We’ve been waiting a long time for this movie, but the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s next Blade feature is finally on schedule. Stacy Osei-Kuffour, the writer of Watchmen, was engaged by Marvel to create the script for the movie, which would finally bring the renowned vampire hunter into the MCU fold. In terms of the director, Marvel has hired Bassam Tariq to handle the project. But the sad news is that the director left the project.

Why Director left the “Blade” movie?

Marvel’s Blade remake is in desperate need of a new director. Late Tuesday night, news circulated claiming that Bassam Tariq had left the project. Tariq quit the film due to altering production schedules, according to a statement provided by Marvel Studios.

He left the Blade movie due to continued shifts in his production schedule, he is no longer moving forward as director of Blade but will remain an executive producer on the film. Tariq followed up with his remark “It’s been an honour working with the wonderful folks at Marvel. We were able to put together a killer cast and crew. Eager to see where the next director takes the film.”

The Blade will be released on November 3, 2023. So, Marvel needs to quickly start the project. Hope this movie gets no further delay because it will be heartbreaking for fans.
